10 Home Remedies to Eliminate Gases



An excellent home remedy to eliminate intestinal gas is to have a freshly prepared herbal tea such as aniseed tea, gentian, avocado leaves or cardamom.

These tea are indicated because they have antispasmodic properties that facilitate intestinal transit, relieving pain and naturally reducing gas production. In addition to the ingestion of these teas, it is also important to adopt a diet where foods that favor the formation of gases such as broccoli or beans are avoided.
Below are the recipes of each tea and what are its properties:

1. Anise Tea



An excellent home remedy for gases, which has no contraindications, is aniseed tea because it has antispasmodic properties, being very effective against colic caused by small gastrointestinal spasms, especially flatulence.

Ingredients


  • 1 tbsp anise ;
  • 1 cup of boiling water. 


Preparation Mode

Add the anise to the cup of boiling water and let stand for 10 minutes. Drink several times a day without adding sugar, as this favors the formation of gases.

2. Gentian Tea



The gentian is an excellent home remedy against intestinal and stomach gas. The gentian is a medicinal plant used for many years to combat digestive problems, its effectiveness is scientifically proven as it regulates peristaltic movements and helps stimulate the production of gastric juice.

Ingredients


  • 1g of dried gentian roots;
  • 200 ml of water


Preparation Mode

The tea is made through the infusion, where the water must be boiled and then the gentian leaves must be added. The tea should be allowed to stand for 10 minutes, since this is the time necessary to obtain an effective dose of active substances. The next step is to strain and then drink, it can be taken several times a day, preferably before meals.

3. Avocado Leaf Tea



An excellent homemade solution against gases is avocado leaf tea. This tea is diuretic and helps calm the digestive system. In addition to eliminating gases, it helps in the treatment of bronchitis, diarrhea and elimination of kidney stones.

Ingredients


  • 50g of dried avocado leaves;
  • 1 liter of water.


Preparation Mode

Avocado leaves should be boiled for 5 minutes. The solution should be placed in a container and covered to let it stand for 10 minutes. You should drink 1 cup of this tea from hour to hour, to help reduce gas.

4. Cardamom Tea



A good home remedy against gases is Cardamom tea, as it helps relieve symptoms such as discomfort, fatigue and swelling in the abdomen.

Ingredients


  • 2 g of cardamom seeds ( Elettaria cardamomum L. );
  • 1 cup of boiling water.


Preparation Mode

Place the cardamom in the boiling water and let stand for 10 minutes, then it should be strained and then preferably drunk after meals. It is important to be careful with the amount of tea you drink, since high amounts can cause vomiting.

5. Melissa Tea



This natural plant also called melissa, has medicinal properties that help reduce the formation of gases in the intestine, also fighting constipation, which is one of the causes of gas accumulation.

Ingredients


  • 1 tablespoon of melissa;
  • 1 tablespoon fennel;
  • 1 cup of boiling water.


Preparation Mode

Place the melissa and fennel in the cup and cover with boiling water, cover and let the mixture cool. Then you should strain it and drink it. It is important not to add sugar or honey, as they favor the production of gases.

6. Carqueja Tea



To combat gas, you should drink 1 cup of carqueja right after the main meals.

Ingredients

1 tablespoon of carqueja ;
1 cup of boiling water.

Preparation Mode

Add the carqueja in a cup of boiling water, cover and let stand for 15 minutes. Strain and drink unsweetened up to 3 cups per day.

7. Ginger Tea



In addition to eliminating gases, ginger can also be used to help fight nausea and vomiting.

Ingredients


  • 2 cm of ginger or 1 teaspoon of ginger powder
  • 1 liter of water.


Preparation Mode

Place the ingredients in a pot and let it boil for about 8 to 10 minutes. Turn off the heat, cover and wait until it is warm. Strain and drink without adding sugar.

8. Herbal Tea



Another natural remedy for gases is herbal tea, made with basil, star anise, anise and mint, since these medicinal plants have antispasmodic properties that help fight gases.

Ingredients


  • 10 g basil;
  • 1ud of star anise;
  • 10 g of anise;
  • 10 g of fresh mint;
  • 1 liter of water.


Preparation Mode

Place the water over medium heat and, when it starts to boil add the mixture of herbs, keeping them for 5 minutes. Remove from heat, let stand covered and drink during the day for at least 3 days.

9. Coriander Tincture 



Tincture made with coriander is also an excellent and efficient home remedy to avoid gas. 

Ingredients


  • 1 tablespoon dried coriander seeds;
  • 1 cup of 60% cereal alcohol.


Preparation Mode

Add the coriander seeds in the cup with alcohol and let soak for 5 days. This process is called maceration, and allows the greatest amount of nutrients and flavor to be extracted from coriander seeds.

After the determined time, the mixture must be cast and with a dropper 20 drops of this home remedy should be added to a glass of water (200 ml). This mixture should be ingested once a day.

10. Exercise to Eliminate Gases

An excellent exercise to help eliminate intestinal gas is to compress the abdominal region, as shown in the image below, as this helps eliminate gas, relieving discomfort and discomfort.

The exercise consists of lying on your back, bending your legs and pressing them against your belly. This exercise should be repeated 10 times in a row.

In addition to drinking tea and doing this exercise, it is recommended to drink plenty of water, walk or bike and eat foods rich in fibers such as vegetables, fruits and dark green leaves, as they help control the formation of gases in the intestine.
